Lee County -- A traffic light at one of the busiest intersections in South Lee County goes in operation Tuesday. Drivers say it is badly needed.
The red light is on U.S. 82 at the intersection of North Doublegate Drive and the new Oakland Parkway. For the last week the light has been blinking yellow or red.
With new development on Oakland Parkway, there is increased traffic, which drivers say make it very dangerous. Patricia Neves said "I was wondering how many bodies there would have to be before they finally did something, because there have been some spectacular accidents here." Do you think it will solve some of that? "I sure hope so."
There are information signs north and south of the Intersection, informing drivers that the red light goes into operation Tuesday morning.
