Albany - - Over 200 Albany State University students walked down the stage today with a degree.

The 2006 graduating class of A.S.U. held its commencement exercises this morning. University System of Georgia Chancellor Errol Davis Jr. gave the commencement address. He spoke to the graduates about reaching their full potential, even after college.

He also said today's graduation is not just for the graduates, but for those who have helped them get this far.

"Congratulations first, not to our honored guests but to those who got our honored guests here - parents, spouses, friends, significant others, relatives, associates, mentors, professors, advisors, and on and on - that entire panel of intricate support relationships in which so many of us depend," Davis said.

Also at the graduation, A.S.U. held an inauguration for its 8th President, Dr. Everette Freeman. This is the 87th year the university has held it's Spring Commencement.
