Albany -- South Georgians gathered at noon for the National Day of Prayer. About 100 people joined hands in prayer in front of the City Government building in Downtown Albany.

This is the 55th annual Day of Prayer. Speakers led the people in prayers for the nation and it's elected leaders, schools, churches, and the media. Tom Aldridge prayed "Help us unite under your name to defeat our enemies who want to take our freedoms away. We ask you to protect our nation and keep it great. "

This is the 13th straight year an Albany service has been held on the National Day of Prayer, asking God to bless America and give guidance to it's leaders.
