Valdosta - A South Georgia inmate is back behind bars after escaping three months ago.

In January, 35-year-old Willie James Gibbs Junior walked away from work detail at the Market Diner in Thomasville. He was being held at the Thomas County Diversion Center after he violated his probation on an aggravated battery charge.

Investigators in Lowndes County got a tip that Gibbs was at the Hudson Dockett Housing Authority on Fry Street in Valdosta Monday. He's now in the Lowndes County Jail and will be transferred back to Thomas County, where he'll be charged with escape.
