Drug arrests continue

May 1, 2006

Albany -- Drug agents continue to pick up more people wanted in lasy week's raid. Sixty-five people have been arrested in the roundup of suspect marijuana, cocaine and meth dealers.

Drug agents made undercover drug buys for the last four months in this investigation, one of the hot spots was around Albany High School in what is called the C.M.E.* area, where agents made up to 20 drug buys.

"It's still bad. Crack cocaine is still king. Meth is a growing problem in North Georgia, and it's a growing problem here. But crack cocaine is still the king of South Georgia," said GBI Special Agent in Charge Michael Lewis.

The GBI is still looking for these five men: Jeffrey Johnson, David Williams, Darrell Morris, Montell Wingfield, and Shaylon Sapp. If you have any information, call the GBI or the Albany Dougherty Drug Unit. There is a reward offered.
