Albany-- A retired educator has set his sights on the Dougherty County School Board seat.

Dean Phinazee, a retired teacher of thirty-five years, announced he candidacy for the district six school board seat. He says he wants empower teachers and take care of taxpayer dollars.

"I am a retired teacher, and I feel like a retired teacher onboard will bring knowledge and background to the board of education" said candidate. Phinazee

Phinazee says he also wants to to increase parental involvement in the Dougherty County School District.
