Albany -- They needed a tie-breaker game that took two days to complete, but the Deerfield-Windsor baseball team earning the region's three-seed in the GISA AAA state playoffs.

The Knights and Sherwood Christian finishing with the same record at the end of the regular season, so they needed one more game to figure out the positioning.

Rain and hail forced the teams to stop the game in the fifth inning, and pick it back up the next day.

Deerfield broke open a 1-0 game on the second day to win 7-2 and earn the 3rd seed in the region, but Knights senior Josh Carswell says they weren't too concerned with who they were going to play.

"It's going to be a little better, but Stratford and Tattnall are about the same caliber team, so we didn't really mind. It was going to be a challenge either way."

Deerfield's game Tuesday starts at 4:30 in Macon.

Sherwood Christian plays at Tattnall.
