Valdosta - The flowers are in bloom around South Georgia and the grass is a little greener, but before you water your yards and gardens, make sure you know your county's watering restrictions.

In Lowndes County , homes with even number addresses can only water on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Odd numbered street addresses should water of Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. No watering is allowed on Fridays.

County officials are on the lookout for those breaking the rules. "The first time, you'll be given a warning," said Lowndes Utility Director Mike Allen. "The second time, you'll be disconnected with a $30 reconnection fee, and the third offense is disconnection with a $200 reconnection fee."

Those watering restrictions are enforced year round, but county officials say they give the most citations in the spring and summer.
