Albany - Albany veterans are raising money to bring the replica of the Vietnam Memorial to town. The last time "The Moving Wall" came to Albany was in 1988. Now, members of American Legion Post 512 and 30 are trying to raise $4,000 to bring back the memorial the first weekend in May.

"The Moving Wall" is the half-size replica of the Washington, DC Vietnam Veterans Memorial and has toured the country for more than 20 years.

"It has a lot of meaning to us veterans and our families," said Marvin Mixon, with the American Legion. "Just to see the names of our comrades, who we knew and recognized. Their names are on there."

More than 58,000 Vietnam Veterans died in the war. Their names are written on the memorial. To make a donation or for more information, contact American Legion Post 512 or 30 or call 229-894-9578.
