South Georgians make their own rain

April 12, 2006

Americus - According to rain collected at our station, we have about a five and a half inch rain deficit this year. Many people are using sprinklers to give their lawn that added boost, like Mike McNeely, a landscaper at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus.

He says they water on a regular basis to keep the campus, including the soccer fields, in good shape. McNeely says, "We've been needing rain and any rain we can get is a blessing."

Here are the days you may water your lawn. If your address is an odd number, you're allowed to water your yard on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Even number addresses are only supposed to water on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
