Thomasville- A confirmed case of Tuberculosis at a Thomasville hospital has the attention of state health officials. A patient at Archbold Hospital tested positive for TB, 47 days into the patients hospital stay. Health officials are contacting those who may have come into contact with the patient and say the community shouldn't worry but there are some common symptoms.

"The symptoms are fatigue, weight loss, night sweats, maybe coughing up blood, coughing, productive coughing," said Susan Redfearn R.N. Thomas County Health Dept.

Those who receive a letter should come in for a test. The nurse will inject a small amount of the purified protein derivative under the skin and then the patient must come back in three days for the results.

Anyone with questions should contact the Thomas County Health Department at (229)226-4241 or 1-888-430-4590 or 1-800-430-4212.
