Thomas County - A South Georgia man is charged with vehicular homicide in a weekend crash that killed a passenger in his car. Troopers say 46-year old Wendell Edwards of Meigs was driving North on Old Highway 19 in Thomas County, when his car ran off the road and he lost control.

The car struck a tree, then flipped several times, ejecting both Edwards and his passenger, 24-year old Travis Bernard Fleming, also of Meigs. The car landed on Fleming, killing him. Edwards was taken to Archbold Memorial Hospital, where he is in fair condition.

Edwards is also charged with DUI and driving too fast for conditions. The SCRT team is investigating.
