Albany -- The Albany Water, Gas and Light Commission and Dougherty County were fined eight thousand dollars after problems at two construction sites.

The Environmental Protection Division fined WG&L five thousand dollars for violations as workers put in fiber-optic and electrical lines near the airport.

Assistant General Manager Keith Goodin says WG&L didn't realize they didn't have the correct permit for the work.

Dougherty County was fined three grand for problems at the Commercial Driver's License testing site on Oakridge Drive. They, too, didn't have the proper EPD permit.
