Pinkins ready for AF2 debut

April 4, 2006

Albany - One of the 13 players on the South Georgia Wildcats roster who will making their Arena 2 Football debut Saturday night is Camilla's Dondrial Pinkins.

The former Mitchell-Baker High and University of South Carolina quarterback has been battling Brian Baker for the starting job during training camp

Head coach Donnie Davis says that decision probably won't be made until the end of the week on who will start Saturday's season opener.

The competition though has been friendly with the rookie Pinkins learning alot on the indoor game from the AF2 veteran Baker.

Dondrial Pinkins said "He has definitely the experience advantage over me. But we have just been talking about the game. Trying to get some idea from him on what to do against this type coverage and things like that."

Brian Baker said "I try to tell him everything I can to help him. He is a great athlete. He can be a great quarteback in this league and I can give him all the knowledge I can give him."

The South Georgia Wildcats open the season Saturday night at the Albany Civic Center at 7:30pm against the Tennessee Valley Vipers.
