April 3, 2006

Valdosta - A South Georgia woman is recognized for her commitment to the community.

Laura Love is the Valdosta Junior Woman's Club 2006 Woman of the Year. The award recognizes women who give back to their communities through service activities and leadership.

Along with working full time as the Community Relations Director for South Georgia Medical Center, Love served as president of the Valdosta Sunrise Rotary Club and Habitat for Humanity last year. She's also a mentor for children in the community and is involved in numerous other civic activities.

"Doing what I do is a gift of love and if you rally feel a commitment to do something, you find the time," said Love.

Love was selected as Woman of the Year by four judges from the Georgia Federation of Women's Clubs.
