Skate park hosts competition

April 1, 2006

Albany -- Thirty competitors came to show off their skills at the new Albany Riverskate today. It was the very first ever Best Trick Competition.

The competition included BMX riders and skateboarders, as well as an in-line skate exhibition.

Competitors rolled in from all over south Georgia. Some who participated say it was a great way to spend the day, despite any bumps or bruises.

"Just to see other people out there doing the same thing that you like to do, it's just really fun to get out there. Everyone's so nice to you," said skateboard competitor TJ Barlow.

Event organizers were very pleased with the turnout of today's event. The skate park will try to hold a competition the first Saturday of every month.

Hours Open:

Wednesday-Friday, 3pm-7pm, 6pm-7pm is reserved for BMXers

Saturday, 10am-6pm, 5pm-6pm is reserved for BMXers
