Cairo- Daylight saving time begins this weekend, but it's also a chance to talk about fire safety. Students from Shiver Elementary went to the Cairo Fire Station to learn fire safety Friday. Firefighters reminded them to turn their clocks back and tell mom and dad to change the batteries in their smoke detectors.

"It's just a good time to change your battery because a battery last probably a good 12 months, but with the time change, it's just a reason to change the battery," said Lt. James Davis, Cairo Fire Department.

Don't forget to set your clock ahead one hour Saturday night before you go to bed.
