Jackets open spring drills

March 29, 2006

Atlanta - It is a long way until September, but if Wednesday was any indication it could be a great season for the Georgia Tech football team.

The weather was absolutely perfect for the Jackets on the first day of spring drills.

After the workout, head coach Chan Gailey says he wants 14 more days just like the first

The weather is not the only thing that Gailey was happy about.

He also like the effort from his squad which returns 15 starters.

Georgia Tech does have some work to do this spring like finding a new running back and replacing three starters in the secondary.

Coach Gailey said "We have got experience at alot of positions. The key for us is to stay healthy and develop some depth."

Georgia Tech will practice again on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning and will end spring drills with a scrimmage on April 22nd.
