Lower gas prices by Memorial Day weekend

March 28, 2006

Albany--Gas prices remain high, but here's some good news, they may go down again soon.

AAA says prices should drop before Memorial Day weekend.

Prices went up recently because some refineries are off-line for annual maintenance and to change over to more expensive summer blends to meet EPA requirements.

But AAA says a strong supply should bring prices down over the next couple of months.

The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded increased more than 30-cents in the last month to $2.42.
