Albany -- Mayor Dr. Willie Adams wants to the City to establish a Bird Flu plan. At least 105 people have died from the bird flu so far, most of them in Asia, but the disease has spread to Europe.

Mayor Adams says it's not a matter of if, but when, the bird flu will spread to the United States. He wants Albany to be ready.

The Mayor plans to meet with emergency and public safety officials, from hospital staffers to firefighters, to come up with a plan to fight the bird flu if it's detected here.
