Wildcats close to opening day roster

Albany -With the season opener just two weeks from Saturday, the South Georgia Wildcats are trimming down the roster for the first game.

The Wildcats 24-man roster includes four quarterbacks with Brian Baker, Dondrial Pinkins, Willie Simmons and Victor Leath. Receiver Alvin Ray Jackson, who had a couple of interceptions in Tuesday's intra-squad scrimmage is also on the roster along with Chris McKinney, Antonio Leroy, James Harris, Eric Flournoy, Rodney Magwood and Eric Davis.

The Wildcats still have to trim their roster three more players to get to AF2 limit of 21.

 The Wildcats will scrimmage the Macon Knights next Saturday in Macon and the season opener is April 8th at the Albany Civic Center against Tennessee Valley.
