Albany -- The 100 Black Men of Albany Georgia held its Annual Trailblazer Awards and Scholarship Gala tonight at the Albany Civic Center. It was the fourth annual gala.

Hundreds of people came to show support for the group that works to improve the city. Tonight's event included food, music, awards, and a motivational speaker from New Orleans. Calvin Mackie shared stories about hurricane devestation there and what America can do improve lives.

"The importance of events like tonight is the synergize the entire community around our children. In America we have lost sight of our children," said keynote speaker Calvin Mackie.

Some proceeds from tonight's silent auction will go toward mentoring and educational programs for children. The organization recognized individuals, groups, and businesses that have made significant contributions to people in Albany.
