Albany -- The man whose testimony sent former Albany Commissioner Henry Mathis to prison, is denied an alcohol license for an east Albany night club.

Joe McDonald requested an alcohol license for Old Road Master's Motorcycle Club on Blaylock Street, but was denied by city commissioners. They say the club is too close to another bar, which is against city code.

McDonald was the man who accused Henry Mathis of extortion. He testified that he paid Mathis to get commissioners to approve a variance in the city code to allow the club to get a liquor license in 2003.

Mathis was found guilty and is currently in prison.
