Moultrie - Collins represented Georgia's 3rd and 8th districts in Congress for 12 years. After redistricting, the 8th district encompasses new counties including Tift, Turner, Irwin, Ben Hill, Colquitt, Wilcox and part of Worth.

Collins says, "I served 12 years, I was elected six times to Congress. I served on the Ways and Means Committee and Denny [Hastert] personally selected me to be on the intelligence committee my last term in the Congress. So to have him come down and be a part of this, speak to people and take questions, it's really been a good day."

Collins hopes to unseat Democratic Representative Jim Marshall in the 8th district.
