Valdosta -- A Georgia congressman visits Lowndes County to review area projects and needs. First District Representative Jack Kingston was in Valdosta Wednesday and toured the city with Mayor John Fretti.

Kingston got an update on several projects going on in the city and visited the management center where he learned how Valdosta controls traffic.

"Instead of spending tax dollars on widening roads, maybe we can control traffic patterns a little better," said Kingston.

Kingston also visited the CSX railroad crossing on St. Augustine Road, the MLK Corridor, and Mill Pond on Jerry Jones Road.
