Valdosta -- Thirty-eight-year-old Kennedy Smith was convicted of rape, burglary, kidnapping and robbery, and was sentenced to 90 years.

In September, 2004, Smith abducted a 20-year-old Valdosta woman after he knocked on her door and threatened her with a bottle.

He took her to Old Clyattville Road where he raped her, then forced her to withdraw money from an A. T. M.

Police say assistance from the victim played a big role in getting the conviction.
