Albany-- Dougherty County's Commission Chairman got an early start on his re-election campaign.

Jeff Sinyard kicked off his campaign in a room packed with supporters. Sinyard says he'll focus on leadership, unity, family and jobs. He says during his term as chairman, 3,000 jobs have been created in Albany despite recent job losses and blows in the Good Life City.

Albany's unemployment rate has also jumped about 20 percent. Sinyard says one of the area's biggest challenges is competing with global companies for new business.

"We've got to outsmart people, outwork people, out hustle people and let people know how serious we are about moving this comm forward and it takes everyone working together. It takes us all working together," says Sinyard.

The election is still four months away. Election day is July 18th.
