Thomasville- A Thomasville woman was cut in a fight early Sunday. The fight started inside the American Legion on Hopkins Street around one o'clock Sunday morning and spilled out into the street.

That's when the argument between 46 year old Mary Jean Ivey and 37 year old Hazel Robinson turned violent. Police say Robinson sliced into Ivey's upper chest with a make up tool.

"One female, was injured, she was cut somewhere just above the chest area and at that time she was transported to Archibald memorial hospital for emergency surgery, said Asst. Commander Melven, Thomasville Police.

Robinson is charged with one count of aggravated assault. Ivey is in fair condition today after surgery.
