Albany -- Hundreds of young students, all dressed in green, marched through the streets of Albany Friday celebrating.

It was the annual St. Teresa's St. Patrick's Day parade. The students all worn their favorite green from head to toe. Many dyed their hair for the big occasion.

The entire student body walked around the block, blowing whistles, cheering, and having a grand old time.

St. Patrick was the Patron Saint of Ireland, who is credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland in the fifth century. St. Patrick's day is celebrated on the anniversary of his death, March 17th.

Many of the students say this is their favorite school day of the year. After their parade, the students gathered to dance and sing Irish songs, and told limericks.
