Colquitt County--A leisurely swim turns fatal for a south Georgia teenager this afternoon.
A 17-year-old boy was swimming in Chamber pond just off Kendalwood Church Road in Colquitt County when he drowned around 1 PM.
Friends of the teenager say they aren't sure how he drowned, but saw him struggling in the water.
They were not able to reach him in time but called for help.
EMS, the fire department, and the Colquitt County Sheriff's Office quickly responded to the scene.
However, they were unable to save him. Police are not releasing the 17-year-old's name at this time.
