Gas trickles below national average

March 12, 2006

Albany -- The price of gas at many stations in Albany has dropped 15 cents below the national average.

This information is according to the latest estimates from AAA. The current average for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $2.36. The current average in Albany is just $2.21, and consumers say they'd rather pay the lower price.

"Gas adds up really fast and I've noticed that a lot more that I leave school and work. So it probably helps in the long run," said Meg Meyer Von Bremen.

The price of gas now is about one dollar cheaper than it was at it's highest price set back in September of last year.
