Albany-- An Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit officer is charged with theft.
Corporal Robert Von Mendenhall was suspended Thursday and arrested Friday night.
Albany Police Chief James Younger says Von Mendenhall is accused of stealing money he confiscated while executing a search warrant.
He has been on the Albany Police force for eight years and assigned to the drug unit since 2003.
