Cordele-- Some people in Crisp County have faith that a little sunshine will fulfill a big need for day care in Cordele.

Eric Jackson and LaNeil Smith will soon open Sunshine Academy, a day care center that will serve more than 50 children. Right now, there are only a handful of day care centers in the area, all with waiting lists.

Sunshine will open thanks to a One Georgia grant. They say it's an answered prayer.

"Being faith-based in general, you're able to share the love that God has for us and to share that with children regardless of what religion or nationality you are, you need love, that encouragement, that nurture," says Jackson.

Jackson is also the pastor of Open Door Community Church right next door. They've gotten a lot of response from the community and should open in about three weeks.
