Waycross -- A body was found in Ware County this morning and investigators believe it's the missing son of a former state senator.
Twenty-seven-year-old Van Streat, Jr., of Nicholls, the son of former senator Van Streat, was last seen alive on February 15 in Waycross.
Two days later, his Dodge truck was found abandoned and partially submerged in a pond just off Beach Highway in Ware County. That's where the body was found around 10:00 Thursday morning in wetlands near Pole Yard Road, not far from the truck.
The body is being sent to the GBI Crime Lab in Savannah where an autopsy will be performed to determine the identity and cause of death.
