Camilla -- The "Thrilla from Camilla" is back in South Georgia.
Former Mitchell-Baker stand-out quarterback Dondrial Pinkins has joined the South Georgia Wildcats as they get ready for the upcoming season.
Pinkins spent two years as the starting QB under Lou Holtz at South Carolina, and is ready to play a major role for the Wildcats.
Dondrial Pinkins has plenty of trophies, but he's hoping for the chance to earn some more.
The former Mitchell-Baker high school and University of South Carolina quarterback was brought in by the South Georgia Wildcats in the off-season, and is looking to earn the nod as starting QB.
"We got a camp coming up soon. I'll go in, and I think there's three other quarterbacks. We're going to be competing for the starting position, and hopefully I can go in and have some great days at the camp and come out with the starting job."
Pinkins was in Columbia, South Carolina last year, so he didn't have the opportunity to see the Wildcats play, but knows the Arena game will be different.
"I went to a couple of tryouts. Other than that I've never played in an actual game. I think it's going to be different. I've heard the speed of the game is a whole lot faster. Just some things I have to adjust to, but other than that I think I'll be up for the challenge."
Pinkins says he's looking forward to playing in front of the home crowd.
"It'll be great, having a lot of people coming out to support me, which will help a lot. Just being around people from home and my family will be great."
And he says getting back to playing the game should be a great experience.
"Playing for the Wildcats will give me the opportunity to get where I want to be. I want to try and make it to the NFL or another league higher than Arena2. But if it doesn't work out, at least I'll still be playing the game of football which I love so much."
The Wildcats open the season April 8th at home against Tennessee Valley.
