Historical Society takes you back in time

Thomasville -- The Thomas County Spring Lecture Series held Tuesday nights offers a glimpse of Thomasville's past.

Starting tonight, the Thomas County History Museum will feature different aspects of Thomasville's history. Tonight's topic is "A look at Thomasville's success during the Victorian Resort Era."

"And even people who have lived here all their lives in many cases are not familiar with these grand hotels that were here attracting, 15,000 visitors a year to Thomasville for about 30 years," says Executive Director Ann Harrison.

Other discussions will include, the Historic Thomas County Plantations, A history of Groover, and African American Middle Class in Thomasville in the age of Booker T. Washington.

The series is free to the public and starts at 7:30.
