Fiber optic system improves traffic

March 6, 2006

Albany - A new fiber optic system will improve the flow of traffic on one of Albany's busiest streets. You may have seen construction along North Slappey Boulevard in the past few months. The D.O.T. is installing a new traffic signaling system.

The system will better coordinate the lights to keep traffic moving from Oakridge Drive to the Liberty By-pass. The $1.8-million project will be complete in about eight months.
