Tifton -- Trisha Yearwood will perform on May 12 at ABAC in Tifton. All proceeds from the singer's performance will benefit the 35th annual Dollars for ABAC Scholars.

Event organizers say a lot of people are looking forward to the country singer's performance. "She's been great to work with," said Organizer Betty McCorvey. "Her people are excited about it. we're excited about it. we're getting calls from everywhere."

The country singer has ties to South Georgia. Her late father graduated from ABAC in 1952. Tickets range from $75 to $125, and go on sale March 13.
