Fitzgerald-- Even if you haven't won any money through the Georgia lottery's new $300 million Gold Rush game, don't throw away your scratch off tickets.
South Georgains are rushing to purchase the Georgia Lottery $300 million Gold Rush instant win tickets, not only to win on the spot, but also for a chance to win from even a losing ticket.
It's called "Rush To Win" a second-chance promotion that has three of these treasure trucks touring the state offering a second chance at big winnings.
"We have an armored truck going around the state giving people opportunities to win prizes, and a chance to unlock the armored truck and win a million dollars"said Dixie Hudson with the Georgia Lottery.
Contestants will be chosen from the pool of losing tickets to attend a million dollar drawing coming up Philips arena in Atlanta April 14th. Today losing ticket holders got to grab keys to try and unlock the treasure truck.
Kim Hill of Fitzgerald proved a second chance at winning is fun. "It feels good, I said I was going to come unlock it, and I did unlock it"said Hill. The touring trucks are making about 144 appearances at lottery retail locations around Georgia, and that has store owners like Mike Foster bringing in big crowds.
"It's been a big asset, I have actually had to hire on a second person in the afternoon's to keep up with the lottery that's playing"said store owner Mike Foster.
Your chance to win could come soon. The treasure trucks will visit Albany, Moultrie and Thomasville over the next week.
