Valdosta and Lowndes County leaders are letting legislators know what's important to their community.
Dozens of business, school, and community leaders loaded up Wednesday afternoon bound for the annual Bird Supper in Atlanta. The city of Valdosta, Lowndes County, and the Chamber of Commerce host the event each year as a networking event with state leaders.
Topping their wish list this year is tort reform, incentives for small businesses, and continuing Georgia's sales tax holiday. "This allows us to stay in touch with the General Assembly in general, but also with our local delegation. Our Chamber sponsors several programs designed for us to be able to give input to our local delegation and the General Assemble as a whole," said Tom Gooding, Legislative Affairs Chairman.
The city, county, and the chamber have hosted the Bird Supper for more than 40 years.
