Ashburn- A South Georgia woman is raped at gunpoint, then shot in the head. Around 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning, an Ashburn woman awoke to someone breaking into her apartment on West Madison Avenue.
Police say, 25 year old Eddie Lee Martin, Jr. of Ashburn demanded money from the 19 year old, then raped her at gunpoint, and forced her to perform sexual acts on him. He then shot the victim in the head. Amazingly, the bullet only grazed the skull and she wasn't critically wounded.
The victim was treated and released from an area hospital Saturday morning. Martin, is charged with various counts including criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and rape.
