Albany -- City Manager Alfred Lott hopes to place the job posting in several professional magazines and websites within the next two weeks.

Lott says he's looking for someone with experience with marketing and promoting events. And he would prefer the candidate be from the southeast.

"I would like to get someone from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana or somewhere like that, if I can. But most of all, I need someone who knows the business, understands promoters and is a part of the network that exists out there. We've been left out of that, I'm sure."

Roger Burnett has been serving as the interim civic center director, since Mattie Goddard was suspended.

Last week, Lott officially fired Goddard, who says she will sue the city. She claims the city manager discriminated against her and unfairly fired her.
