Albany -- This morning a Dougherty County Grand Jury re-indictment of charges against the whistle blowers was signed by a Judge.

The Grand Jury met until about 6:00 Wednesday night, drawing up new indictments against Dr. John Bagnato, Charles Rehberg, and Jim Bowman.

The three are now charged with five counts of harassing phone calls and simple assault, all misdemeanors.

The two felony counts they were charged with in a previous indictment - burglary and aggravated assault - were dropped.

Bowman's attorney said the three men are ready to go to trial and prove their innocence. "These charges, or this charge against Mr. Bowman has no basis whatsoever factually. It has no basis whatsoever legally," said Defense Attorney Bobby Lee Cook.

The three Factoid whistle blowers dropped their demand for a speedy trial, so their case is expected to be tried in the summer.
