Tifton - As part of the governor's Paving the Way Home initiative, Tift County is getting money to pave seven and a half miles of roadways. 18th Street West is included in the resurfacing projects.

Craig Solomon with the Georgia Department of Transportation says, "Many local governments cannot afford the cost of maintaining and upgrading their roads, so the Paving the way home $234 Million budget will help fund that."

Counties are currently submitting prioritized projects to the DOT and those selected will be awarded within the next several weeks.
