Success knows no color

February 10, 2006

Leesburg-- Lee County High School students spent this morning celebrating Black History Month, with this years theme being the color of success. The students ran most of the program, taking part in words of inspiration, songs by the Black History Choir, and presentations of student art work.

Students say today's message is success knows no color. "We want people to know that you can be successful no matter what race you are, and that is the message we want to get acrossed today" said Lee County High School student Michael Daniels.

The guest speaker for the event was Andrea JaNell Parker with the United States Coast Guard in New Orleans, Louisiana.
