VSU makes it a sweep of GSC weekly awards

Valdosta - Valdosta State swept the Gulf South Conference player of the week awards.

Lady Blazer Traci Newton is the eastern division player of the week after she averaged 22 points in VSU's games at Alabama-Huntsville and North Alabama where she scored six of the Lady Blazer's 10 points in their overtime win.

Traci Newton makes her 107th consecutive start Saturday night against West Georgia at the VSU Complex.

Valdosta State guard Mike Crain is the men's player of the week.
