Valdosta - A South Georgia man is found guilty of rape and kidnapping.
In September of 2004, 38-year-old Kenneth Smith of Quitman took a woman from her home on Pinetree Street in Valdosta. He raped her and made her give him money from her ATM account. He then went to the drive through at Taco Bell, where the woman managed to jump out of the car and get away.
Lowndes County deputies spotted Smith's car on I-75 and apprehended him.
A jury found him guilty of rape, kidnapping, burglary, and robbery.
