Valdosta - The night life is alive in Valdosta tonight.

Local restaurants and shops will be open a little later than usual for "First Fridays." Some businesses will be offering special discounts for the night, while others will have live music and entertainment.

"Our slogan is 'Downtown is a lifestyle' and for it to be a lifestyle, it had to be more thna just from 8:00 until 5:00 each day, it needs to be 24 hours a day, seven days a week," said Nikki Knox, Main Street Director.

Most of the businesses' First Friday discounts and promotions will end at 9:00 tonight.
