Albany - An Albany insurance agency was robbed this morning, the third holdup on Dawson Road and North Slappey in two weeks.
A masked man walked into Alfa Insurance on Dawson Road, threatened a worker and stole money.
January 23rd, a similar robbed happened just a few blocks away at the Allstate Insurance Agency on North Slappey. In that robbery, a masked man hit agent JoAnne Hawkins in the head with a stick and stole money from the business.
Just before four yesterday morning, a gunman held up the Woodall's Convenience Store on North Slappey. No one was been hurt in the robberies, but business owners are concerned.
"It frightened me a great deal that there is a large part of our society that doesn't play by the same rules that we do," said Rick Muggridge of Alfa Insurance. "I don't how to change that, and I don't know how to help those people help themselves. This certainly isn't the way to go about it."
Muggridge says he's beefing up security. He plans to add a glass partition to his front desk and will not leave his front door open. No arrests have been made. Police are trying to determine if the robberies connected.
