Albany -- A Dougherty High athlete is facing drug and shoplifting charges. Eighteen-year-old LaValle Parker was arrested Tuesday afternoon, and charged with shoplifting from Belk at the Albany Mall.

Police say Parker had marijuana in his pocket, and a stolen loaded gun in his car when he was arrested.

It's not Parker's first run-in with the law. He was arrested last year and charged with forgery in Lee County for cashing checks stolen from Lee County Football Coach David Johnson.
